Backend Intern

Works on the services behind AmyLearn and the calculation pipeline behind Trikal Darshi.

About the role

AmyLearn is a multi-tenant academic platform: Node.js with Express, Prisma for data, JWT sessions, and separate portals for students, faculty, exam cells and staff, with every record scoped to one college. Trikal Darshi casts charts with the Swiss Ephemeris in the Lahiri sidereal system and writes an eleven-chapter reading. HotelEase keeps its data in an encrypted file on the hotel's own PC, which is a different kind of backend problem: no server, no sync, no room for a lost record.

Why join us

  • Three real products, not a training demo. Trikal Darshi is live, AmyLearn is in beta and HotelEase v2.2 is shipped.
  • Six founders and no layers. The person who reviews your work is the person who set the scope.
  • Your work reaches production. This site rebuilds on every push to main, on a domain people visit.
  • The week is built around your classes. We judge what lands, not how long you stayed online.

What you will do

  • Build and fix endpoints for AmyLearn's attendance, examination, library and fee-ledger flows.
  • Keep tenant scoping honest. One college must never see another college's students, marks or fees.
  • Write migrations and review the queries behind them.
  • Work on auth and access: email verification, JWT sessions, roles and feature flags.
  • Handle the file work behind document upload and OCR.
  • Add the logging and tests that make a beta safe to put in front of a college.

What you will learn

  • Multi-tenant data design, and the specific way it fails when it is bolted on late.
  • Schema and migration discipline with Prisma.
  • Third-party inference with Groq-hosted open-source models, and when not to call a model at all.
  • Deploying a Node service on Render behind a Vercel front end.
  • Encrypted local storage patterns from HotelEase: SQLCipher, Windows DPAPI, backups on launch.

Requirements

  • You are in your 2nd or 3rd year of a degree or diploma.
  • JavaScript or TypeScript with Node.js, and at least one API you built yourself.
  • One relational database well enough to write a join by hand: PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQLite.
  • Git, and the habit of reading an error before asking about it.
  • Willing to learn Prisma, JWT flows and an OCR pipeline.
  • Comfortable working from a written scope rather than a standing call.

Perks

  • Real users. AmyLearn is in beta with colleges, and Trikal Darshi is already live.
  • You will ship a migration that touches production data, with someone reviewing it first.
  • Direct access to the founder who built the AmyLearn data model.
  • A written internship letter and a reference you can use afterwards.
  • Backend work across web, mobile and desktop products in one stint.

The honest terms.

  • Every role here is an internship, open to students in their 2nd or 3rd year of a course.
  • These are unpaid positions. There is no stipend at present, and we would rather say it here than in an interview.
  • Amyreil Technologies is not incorporated in any country. We plan to incorporate in India at a later date. Until then, nothing on this page is an offer of employment.
  • All work is remote. There is no walk-in office to report to.
  • We hire on the stack these three products already use. If the work needs a different tool, you should be open to learning it.

Send your work.

Put Backend Intern in the subject, link your GitHub or portfolio, and say which parts of the stack you have already used. We reply within one working day.
